bedroom-decor-ideasEvery home owner knows what a struggle it is – trying to find ways to decorate the different rooms in the house without really going all out broke. And usually, the first room that everyone targets to decorate according to their personal taste, (or at the very least least, give a much needed makeover) is the bedroom. And why is that? Because admittedly, the bedroom is the one place in the house where you can really hang loose. Although you spend more time sleeping in it, you would rather prefer that this particular space has every thing you would need to just kick back and be comfortable in. So if you are looking for ways to decorate this space, here are some unique but inexpensive bedroom decor ideas you might want to try.

1. Recycle! There is nothing wrong with recycling some quality furniture that may be collecting dust in your attic or basement. Quality wooden pieces never really go out of style, and you can use those to liven up your room to a certain degree. For example: an old children’s toy box can become a clothes chest which you can put at the foot of your bed. You can also visit nearby yard sales and pick out one or two pieces out that you might like. Look at the wooden pieces carefully to ascertain that you will not be paying more for its cleaning and repair, than its actual yard sale price. Or as a cheaper alternative, why not ask friends, family and relatives if they have some furniture pieces that they can “donate” to your remodeling endeavors. Who knows what treasures might turn up?

2. Be extra creative with paint. Here is one of the more novel bedroom decor ideas. Paint one wall with an unexpected color. Choose a shade that really pops out or contrasts with the rest of the bedroom wall color. A solid purple backdrop on one wall can have a pleasantly startling effect. Better yet, if you have the artistic touch, try to paint a favorite scene on that wall like a swirling vortex in deep space, or a huge orchid in vibrant hues. This helps make the room interesting on its own. You can also do this with the ceiling or even just the doors of your closet as well. Painted window panes are also becoming big hits with homeowners on a budget.

3. Accessories using one distinctive color. So maybe your bedroom is in a blah shade of beige. Instead of spending a lot of money trying to re-paint or papering walls, why not choose eye-pooping accessories instead? Go on your magpie mode and start collecting items in and around the home that has that one distinctive color shade that you like. A crimson candle set, a red throw pillow, a clock with a carmine background, and even a Winnie the Pooh doll with its red shirt can help bring a specific color theme to your bedroom. Make sure that you actually like the accentuating color, because this will make it easier for you to collect stuff and make you happy as well while you are lounging in your bedroom.
